Hobbit habits

We're short! We're stout! We're proud! We're out! Give us a dragon or a wizard, we'll stamp those baddies out! With our big feet and amazing aim!

Day 4

We ran into Merry & Pippin, literally over by farmer Maggot's farm. Frodo has been on edge for a while now. It's no wonder with those black riders after us. We nearly got caught by them when we fell off the ledge gettin' out of the shire. Merry and Pip are keeping the mood light. It's a good thing they don't know what we have to do and that Frodo has to carry this ring to Rivendell. I think this adventure is going to be a bit more involved than we thought. If we can just get to the Prancing Pony and talk to Gandalf again, I think Frodo will feel better. ~ Sam

Arrrrrghhh!!!

It seems I have needed much rest, I must go forth with the Elves on their ship. It has been a struggle just keeping up with one blog, much less two. I began this simply as a humorous aside, not knowing whether or not I could keep it up. Obviously, I can't. Bravo to MHN for trying harder than me! I shall pass the torch to her, then, if she wishes to continue it. This is just my formal signing off, cheers.

Day 3

I'm tired off all this walking in the shadows. I'love to have the sun on my face, but Gandalf said to stay off the road. We are almost to farmer Maggit's farm. The trip is going well so far. ~Sam.

Day 1. The Start of a Journey

Last night's party turned out to be quite the affair. The fireworks were fantastic. No surprise there, Gandalf always has something special up the sleeve of his robe. Bilbo did the strangest thing at the end of his speech. He just ... vanished.

Later after the party, I was doing a little weeding outside of Bilbo's home. I could hear Gandalf and Frodo talking. Strange conversation they were havin'. Then Gandalf pulled me through the window and told me I was goin' on a journey with Frodo and I'd have to look after him.

We've just left the Shire...I've never been this far away from home before. Already, I'm a little homesick. I wonder what lay ahead.

Frodo seems a little nervous. Might have something to do with the conversation that he and Gandalf were havin'.

I Am Sam

Hello All!
I am Samwise Gamgee. I am a gardener in Hobbiton, in the Shire. One of my closest friends is Frodo Baggins. He lives with his very old and slightly strange uncle, Bilbo Baggins. There have been songs written about Bilbo's adventures. Currently Bilbo is writing a book about the whole adventure he had with Gandalf the Grey and the Dwarves. Today is Bilbo's 111th birthday. There will be a big party and Gandalf with be bringing the fireworks. It should be a fun time for all. If I get enough drink in me, I might just ask Rosie to dance with me.

BLOG!

Well, okay, most wouldn't, but Bilbo and Frodo -- could you imagine their blogs if they'd taken a laptop with them on their adventures? Well, perhaps an invisible ipod... Can you imagine the hobbits dancing the way those ipod advert folks do?
